How2trak Mobile Application Ready For Roll Out
May 15th: Health Outcomes Worldwide has completed the development of it’s new how2trak® mobile application and will be rolling it out in sites throughout Ontario and the East Coast over the next few months. How2trak® mobile will work on most smart phones, and will give practitioners, managers and administrations best practice information access and outcome management tools wherever and whenever they need them.

Corrine McIssac Was Invited To Be A Pannelist At Major US Health Forum In Philedelphia
Corrine McIsaac, President and CEO of Health Outcomes Worldwide, was invited to be a panelist at North America’s premier mobile health event, the Mobile Health Forum. The College of Physicians of Philadelphia invited McIssac to the conference which was held on March 28th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Along with her role with Health Outcomes Worldwide, McIsaac, Med, BScN, RN, is an Associate Professor in the Nursing Department at Cape Breton University. She is the creator of the how2trak® system and the recently developed how2trak® mobile application.

The conference theme, “Mobile Devices and Services are Changing the Healthcare Landscape – A Guide for Entrepreneurs and Healthcare Providers”, is very timely for Health Outcomes Worldwide as the company is set to launch its how2trak® mobile application in Ontario in April 2011. Health Outcomes Worldwide had completed several years of testing their how2trak® system in various care settings throughout Ontario which has resulted in costs savings of 30-40 per cent in wound care.

The company is now signing long term contracts with several health care providers in Ontario.

“A lot of innovation is happening with Health Outcomes Worldwide these days, and this invitation puts us in front of decision makers in the U.S. from the mobile health industry. We know we can make a difference in the US because we can help them improve patient care while simultaneously improving profitability with our how2trak® system”, says McIsaac. “The timing for our solution is perfect in the US as insurances are no longer paying for some adverse events in hospital; our system prompts the user to provide evidence based care, alerts them to potential adverse events and helps to prevent them, thereby improving care and decreasing costs.”

The how2trak® system allows a health professional to enter patient clinical data through a laptop or mobile device. The system then prompts nurses with best practice information, which helps to ensure the best care for the patient. The how2trak® system also tracks and reports on the quality of care delivered and the cost of this care. Health care providers can easily see the outcomes of their care and Health Care Administrators are able to track and manage their budget. Health Outcomes Worldwide has the largest proprietary database of wound care treatment data in North America, which allows the company to be able to provide benchmark and comparison data for organizations. The company is set to launch their Diabetes module in late spring and is working on a module for Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections.

Debbie Roberts, Senior Director of Performance Management and Accountability for the North Simcoe Muskoka Community Care Access Centre (NSMCCAC) spoke of their experience using the how2trak® system. “Our daily nursing surgical wound care visits are down to just 4%, and our clients are healing faster. Reducing the daily visit rate from 30% to 4 % has yielded hard dollar savings of $60 per client visit, for a total of $300,000 in 4 months, in addition to significant costs saved through reduced dressing materials used.”

The conference is expected to bring together some of North America’s world class clinicians, technologists ,entrepreneurs, privacy and security experts, and venture capitalists, for the 2nd annual Mobile Health Forum event.
